Happy Halloween!

I LOVE the way this cake turned out!! So cute and a little spooky too! The perfect Halloween cake! It's a white cake, with chocolate mousse and raspberry filling covered in buttercream frosting with spider webs and little spooky spiders. The customer also LOVED it and said it is by far the best cake she's ever seen!

Happy Birthday Halloween Party!

I had a Happy Birthday Halloween Party order to do today! I love the way they turned out! The pumpkin cake is a white cake with buttercream frosting and a Happy Birthday message to the little boy!

Also for the birthday party I made chocolate cupcakes decorated as little happy vampires! The customer was THRILLED with how they turned out! Hope that little Carter enjoys his Halloween Birthday Party this year!

Beautiful Fall Flowers

I had a birthday cake order for today and all the woman asked for was a white cake with white icing. Um, ok.... now I am all about color. I don't really do white so well. So after suggesting a few things to her... I still got a white cake with white icing is fine. As I was leaving though she said "well I do like flowers"... OK now I got something I can work with. I thought about it the whole way home and decided that the color combination of these flowers would be beautiful on top of a crisp white cake. I am happy with the way it turned out and the customer LOVED it.

Monster Munch!

Over on Our Best Bites they posted a yummy popcorn mix for Halloween that I was just dying to make! So I decided to make it today. I'm not a huge fan of candy corn... but while out shopping for it I was shocked to find they now have dozens of different flavors of it! Regular, Smore's, tangerine, cotton candy, candy apple, and pumpkin pie just to name a few. Knowing I like pumpkin pie, and loving the fact that it was your typical candy corn colors I chose that one. This is one of the easiest recipes ever! Totally fool proof, pretty and extra yummy! Check out Our Best Bites for the recipe. And as always.... Enjoy!

Apple Butter Stuffed French Toast!

On one of our trips to the pumpkin patch this year we picked up some Apple Butter. I look at it every day in the pantry wondering what on earth I can use it for.... Then it came to me last night! Stuff french toast! MMMMM Delish!!
This recipe makes 6 stuffed french toasts

12 pieces of the bread of your choice
5 eggs
1/2 Cup milk
1 t vanilla

4 oz soften cream cheese
1/2 Cup of your favorite preserve

Mix the eggs, milk & vanilla. Take 6 pieces of bread and spread the cream cheese on them. Take the other 6 pieces of bread and spread your preserve on them. Now put them together to form a sandwich. Dip each side in the egg mixture then transfer to your griddle. Cook until golden brown on each side. Serve with a dollop of preserve on top sprinkled with powdered sugar and drizzled with warm maple syrup!!

OH this is just heavenly!

Some added sprinkles to the little girls!

A new twist on a classic Saturday morning breakfast!

We started a tradition a while back of Cinnamon Rolls on Saturday mornings. We tried all different kinds - regular, orange (a personal favorite of mine), even chocolate. I started playing around with them and decided to cut them up in to little chunks and then put them in a muffin pan to bake. The result comes out like individual little monkey breads! (which I'll be posting the recipe for in a few days) YUMMY. From there we've done all sorts of different things. Added nuts, raisins, caramel topping, and the classic white icing as well. So yummy, and my daughter thinks so too! :)

A Harvest of Cupcakes

I decided to try out a new thing with these cupcakes. I found adorable little cookie cutters in harvest shapes like a pumpkin, an acorn, leaves... and when I made the cupcakes, I cut the tops off, used the small cookie cutters to cut out the shape, then frosted it, and then replaced the tops. The result.... a totally cute new way of doing cupcakes for all seasons!
Enjoy!

Spiced Whoopie Pies

I found this recipe a while ago and wanted to try it out for a housewarming gift for my mother in law. It's a super easy recipe that anyone can make.
All you will need is:
1 box cake mix (for these I just used a white cake mix)
1/2 cup of butter at room temp
2 eggs
I added some spices to my mix.... a little cinnamon, and a little allspice.

Frosting of your choice.

mix together. preheat oven 350* drop mixture by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Try to keep them all the same size. Bake 10-12 minutes. Let cool on cookie sheet for a few minutes and then transfer to cooling rack.

Once cool you frost the bottom side of one cookie and then press them gently together. I chose to use buttercreme because I had it on had. Cream Cheese would be a great choice as well.
Then if you like you can decorate the sides with jimmies, sprinkles, or just leave plain.

And as always.... Enjoy!
